About

Rooff Development was born out of a labor of love by its founder and life-long Waterloo resident, John R. Rooff. A 3rd generation family owner of Black Hawk Plumbing with 30 years subcontracting in the commercial and residential building sector, John saw a need in the community for modern, quality homes at affordable prices. With this vision and a few empty lots just perfect for building, John set out to launch a new company.

In its first year of business, Rooff Development built 3 homes, and has now built more than 100 homes in the Cedar Valley and surrounding communities, delivering on John’s vision of quality, affordable homes for northeast Iowa residents. Rooff Development maintains its mission of building quality, customized homes within the home buyer’s means and continues to deliver on that promise year after year.
